Description
Bakhita: From Slave to Saint is a beautiful movie about a young girl’s journey to Catholic faith. Kidnapped by slavers, Bakhita was sold to Federico Marin to be the nanny servant to his daughter, Aurora.
She is treated like an outcast because of her African background, but remains kind and generous to others. With the help of a kind priest, Bakhita gradually becomes closer to God and embraces the Catholic Faith.
Her desire to join the order of Canossian sisters is rejected by Marin, because he does not want to give her up as a servant and treats her like property. This causes uproar that impacts Bakhita’s freedom, and her ultimate decision to become a nun.
